Ginger Bread House Building !!!!!!!!

I'm sorry for the lack of posts ! I've been unbelievably busy recently and couldn't wait for the holidays, I would of collapsed if the school term lasted any longer and I just couldn't find the time to sit down and write something quality.I would much rather post something of great quality that I loved writing and am proud of, than lots of lacklustre posts that I am not proud of.With that, MERRY CHRISTMAS OKOIHGYEDNSNIHHWSIHWIWHFQUK I hope you have had an amazing day with all your loved ones and had some nice prezzies ;)

This year, I really wanted to make a gingerbread house.I'd never made one before and they sold complete kits in Morrisons for only £5.00, so I decided to give it a go.

You get really easy to follow instructions and the pieces come ready cut to stick together with the thick icing-glue that comes with the kit.

The glue is applied to the edges of the pieces which are stood up inside the plastic tray the house comes in, to hold the shape whilst it dries.

After about 30 minutes, the house was stable and ready to decorate! I iced the roof and decorated with the sprinkles and buttons the kit came with, and also used some things of my own, such as maltesers and jelly orange slices. The kit also had some silvery/white sprinkles that I added to the roof, to look like 'snow'.I used little cubes of my own chocolate to make windows on the front of the house.

This was such a fun thing to make and considering I had never done one before, I thought I gave it quite a good shot! It also made a really nice christmassy decoration in our kitchen!

Merry Christmas !

I love to cut out cute things from past xmas cards or other cards to stick them on the card labels to make my super cute own personalised ones! I just think it gives things a really cute original element ! Again, lovely to make with kids to ! You can also reuse old cards for tonnes of things, plus it's recycling ! :)

Sorry these are a little short ! Promise they will be loads better when I go on holiday and have some exciting stuff to tell you about but it's my first time doing blogmas and my first time on the social world at christmas so yeah I think I'm doing ok for now :)

Advent With Scarly/Blogmas

Hellllooooo !
OMG, today is the 1st of December! This means I can officially start to talk about christmas now.I'm so excited, I love the festive feeling and all the decorations and adverts on telly.Today I opened draw 1 of my calendar which looks like a cute little santa and has different themed things in all the different draws.Today I got a Lindt chocolate santa :) Plus smooth xmas is now on the radio so its time to get christmassy. (fave christmas song? Tell me at scarlettjwghs@gmail.com or my instagram scarl.yy)

For todays craft, we have Finger Paint Doodles~
This is a really cute one to do with little brothers or sisters but I found it fun just doing it by myself. These can also make pretty christmas cards or thankyou notes.

These adorable little reindeers were super quick and easy and I simply pressed my finger on the paper once pressing on a washable ink pad (paint would be just as good) and drawing on the details! So easy and super cute. :)

You can do the same technique to make loads of pretty pictures !

I hope you enjoyed this first little blogmas and advent with scarly craft ! Come back tomorrow for another !

P.S - Sadly, there has been editorial problems with my book and will probably be released a couple of weeks late.Sorry for any inconveniences :(

Lots of Love !

HALLOWEEEEEEEEEEN MAKEUP SUPER SUPER EASY

Hellooo ! OMG it's nearly Halloween.I literally love Halloween so much so I thought I would do a Halloween makeup tutorial. It's the first time I have ever tried anything like this so if it looks a little bit rubbish, don't judge me.

Below is me at the end of the look, so if you want to re-create this 'snapchat demon spin off" type look, this is the end result you will be aiming to achieve :)

STEP 1 :

So I started by doing my basic skin routine, to which I have introduced the Benefit Porefessional, which I'm loving at the moment.I don't use foundation, I usually use the Rimmel 9 in 1 Skin Perfector BB Cream and a light dusting of either the Rimmel stay matte powder in transparent, or the Benefit pressed powder in Ivory. For this look, I wanted heavy heavy coverage with a heavy amount of powder applied, to give a very washed out complexion and it was just nice to work on and build up this spooky texture and look.(P.S, ignore my random top in this, I didn't put on a costume sowwwwy)

So then I just made my brows a bit neater with the Rimmel brow pencil in 002 Hazel.I also gave my eyes a very hollow, set back, spooky look with the dark plum shade from the Starlight palette.I used my Superdry eyeliner pencil and blender to do a flick.

Next, I used a black powder on my lips, and used an eyeliner pencil to stencil a doll shape to my top lip.I also added some crazy looking contacts to my eyes to give my look a very standout element.I also used my blue chubby eye pencil and my eyeliner pencil to start to sketch out some veins running down to my cheeks.I also applied a light dusting of the plum shadow to either side of my nose for an enhanced feature, and also to replicate the purple from my eyes to give a purple hue to the rest of the look.

I then extended the smile to my upper cheeks, for a more sinister look.I also extended the veins and also added veins on my forehead, as well as some shading to it and my cheeks, to give the look some more depth.I also added red in between the veins.I left my hair pretty much natural, just applying some green hair spray, but you obviously can't see that in the black and white picture. My hair was on its 2nd day in the picture and I highly recomend using dirty hair for this look.To achieve it with fresh hair, it would take a lot of back combing and hairspray to get it to this point.

Thankyou for reading ! I hope you enjoyed it.What I love about this tutorial is the simplicity of what is required to make it.I was looking for inspiration online and on youtube, but all the looks seemed to need liquid latex or fake blood or facepaint or something, but my look just uses eyeshadow and eyeliner and bits of basic makeup.

Happy Halloween !
Keep Smiling :)
Love,
Scarlett

I also love Scream, 1996 as a bit of a silly slasher movie and it is halloween very soon so I will definitely be watching it then.I'll put the synopsis for each film below.

Trading Places ~

MPW-17447 (500×773)
Upper-crust executive Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd) and down-and-out hustler Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) are the subjects of a bet by successful brokers Mortimer (Don Ameche) and Randolph Duke (Ralph Bellamy). An employee of the Dukes, Winthorpe is framed by the brothers for a crime he didn't commit, with the siblings then installing the street-smart Valentine in his position. When Winthorpe and Valentine uncover the scheme, they set out to turn the tables on the Dukes.

The Lost Boys ~

Lost_boys.jpg (300×439)

Teenage brothers Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) move with their mother (Dianne Wiest) to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edgar (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander), the angst-ridden Michael soon falls for Star (Jami Gertz) -- who turns out to be in thrall to David (Kiefer Sutherland), leader of a local gang of vampires. Sam and his new friends must save Michael and Star from the undead.

Scream ~

scream-536d281d454f2.jpg (1000×1426)

The sleepy little town of Woodsboro just woke up screaming. There's a killer in their midst who's seen a few too many scary movies. Suddenly nobody is safe, as the psychopath stalks victims, taunts them with trivia questions, then rips them to bloody shreds. It could be anybody...

I hope you enjoyed this 20 question 'Get To Know Me' tag.I hope you like these more personal kind of posts.

Autumn GRWM

Hello ! Today I'm going to be sharing an Autumn GRWM. Enjoy :) x !  ( There are more detailed information and pictures on a lot of the products mentioned in my previous GRWM )

1.

First of all I used my Rimmel BB Cream all over my face and then applied a light dusting of Benefit's Ivory Powder on top.If I have a stand out blemish, I will cover with Benefit's Boi-ing Concealer, but I didn't feel I needed to do this today. This is the most coverage I personally want.Obviously with a foundation I would have a lot more coverage but I think it is so easy for it to look cakey and I don't particularly mind a bit of natural-ness.

I then added my DP Illuminator under my eyes.I also applied some blusher to the apples of my cheeks and some bronzer around the sides of my face to just add a bit of shape.I then blended this all in to flow nicely and make sure I didn't have any makeup tide lines.

2.

For my eyes, I used silver as the base colour, then added a gold tone, both from the Starlight Pallett.I used my inner eye highlight stick from DP and then did a small flick using my Super-Dry eye liner pencil, connecting a little up my eye lid and a little on my lash line.It is always good to do this because if you just do a flick and don't follow it out, it can look really harsh.I also used my blue chubby pencil from DP and blended this in on the bottom lashline.

3.

I then used Scarlett Creme by LO'real on my lips.I love this colour ( and I didn't just buy it because of my name haha ).

4.

I simply left my hair loose with a couple of pieces pinned back and I paired my white blouse with high waisted blue jeggings and my wrap.

Hope you enjoyed !
Keep Smiling :)
Love,
Scarlett
