Skin and Hair Care // Lush & The Body Shop :)

Today I’m going to show you some of my recent skin and hair care buys from Lush and The Body Shop. :)

Sunnyside (pictured above) is a sparkly gold bubblebar (if you don’t know, a bubblebar is a crumbly textured object, which you crumble under running water to create bubbles in your bath) from Lush.Lush usually suggests using the whole thing in the bath, and with the considerably larger bubble bars, such as The Comforter, they suggest breaking it in half and getting 2 baths out of it, but I can get numerous uses out of even the smaller bubble bars, by just breaking off a smaller piece and crumbling, which provides a considerable amount of bubbles and gives the water a nice colour, in this case, also a sparkle, as Sunnyside is coated in a gold glitter. If you have been to Lush before, or are aware of the company, you will probably know that they are fighting animal testing and all products are fresh and handmade and the Sunnyside bubblebar is vegan. It has a lemon/zesty smelling undertone, with strong sweet citrus scents. It has also made my skin nice and clear, with the tangerine oil toning the skin. The Sunnyside bar has a new formula and is available to purchase from the Lush website for £4.65 ~  https://www.lush.co.uk/products/sunnyside-0
Pictured above is a soap from The Body Shop’s strawberry collection.Similar to Lush, The Body Shop uses natural ingredients and fights animal testing. They also do fund-rasing for many different charities and often work with Fairtrade, as do Lush. This soap smells so sweet and it lathers really nicely.I feel really clean after use and the smell stays on my skin for a while afterwards. For £2.00, this is an amazing purchase as you get a good sized bar of soap. The Body Shop website is under maintenance at the moment, but in a few hours, will be up and running again.~http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/

Above, is Brightside, one of Lush’s bigger bubblebars. It has the same appearance as The Comforter, but in red and orange shades opposed to the purple and white colours of The Comforter.Lush say to break this in half and use it for 2 baths, but I break mine in half, crumble about a quarter of each half into the bath every time I use it, and it goes a long way, with plenty of bubbles and a lovely orange colour to the water. It has citrus smells, but they are very sweet, not sharp, and the tangerine and bergamot oil cleans and tones the skin.My skin has felt fresh and very clear since using this product.Brightside also contains Gardenia Extract. The bubbles produced from the bubble bar, feel rich and creamy compared to normal bottled bubble-bath that can be bought from most supermarkets or cosmetic shops (e.g Boots). For the quantity of bubble bar you get, and the properties it provides your skin, I think £4.75 is a good price.Buy Brightside online now~https://www.lush.co.uk/products/brightside

Karma, as shown in the above picture, is one of Lush’s soaps.Karma is an iconic Lush scent; they have Karma perfume, body lotion,shampoo-bar,bubblebar and solid perfume- as well as a gift set and the soap. All the Karma products have a very rich, warm, layered scent. It is totally different from some of the zingy, fresh greeny-blue products from Lush.Picture warm, deep shades of red and purple. It has deep, earthy patchouli oil,lemon-grass oil, elemi oil, with sweet orange tones scent. The smell lasts on the skin for a long time, and my Mom, who loves the Karma range and has the perfume, always says she can smell it in my room when I’ve been sitting in there after having a shower! Lush has 3 different sizes of soap, 100g,250g and 500g.The 100g bar (pictured above) lasts for a long long time and I think £4.10 is a fantastic price for a product that offers 10/10 on quality AND quantity! Buy it online now ~https://www.lush.co.uk/products/karma-2

Any fan of Lush will probably be aware of this product, The Comforter. The Comforter is one of the most popular and well known products that Lush sells and it is a bubblebar. It works in the exact same way as Brightside and is more or less the exact same shape and size.Again, I just break a little bit off each time as a little goes a long way.The Comforter has a very sweet, fruity smell and one of the main ingredients is cassis absolute (blackcurrant). It also contains bergamot oil.Like Brightside, The Comforter produces bubbles much more creamy and rich than that of a bottled lotion and it gives the water a beautiful pinky purple shade. This is one I just have to repurchase, and you can try it too for £4.75.~https://www.lush.co.uk/products/comforternosto=o-page-footer
Another popular product, this is the Bubblegum lip scrub. This is by far the most well know lip scrub that Lush sell and I know friends who highly recommend this product. It has a grainy texture and a little goes a really long way,so it lasts quite a while. It removes the dead skin really well and leaves lips feeling soft and moisturised.I'm sure that if you ask anyone who enjoys this product, they will say it tastes really nice because it contains lots of  caster sugar! You can have fabulous lips too for £5.50 ~https://www.lush.co.uk/products/bubblegum
So this is the Mango body scrub from The Body Shop.I purchased this in a deal with a moisteriser for £18.This smells so nice and if you have ever smelt mago sorbet icecream, you will know exactly how this smells. It has a grainy consistency, with a creamy base and it is gentle but still exfoliating. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft and very clean. If you are interested, invest now to make the most of the deal!~http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/
This is another item from The Body Shop's strawberry collection, and it is in a body butter. It is considerably thicker than a body lotion, but upon application, it glides across the skin. The smell is absolutely amazing, it is mouth wateringly sweet and I can smell it on my skin hours after application! To get any body butter with any body scrub, for only £18, buy now before it's too late!~http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/
Last, but definitely not least! This is the Whoosh shower jelly, by Lush.It is the exact same look, feel and consistency of a normal jelly, but it is made using seaweed, to achieve the wobbly texture. You simply use the jelly like a soap and rub it on your skin.It also great for the scalp, so can be used to wash hair. The smell is so fresh and awakening, full of lime, grapefruit, honey water and rosemary.Over time, little bits may start to come off the jelly as it shrinks, the more you use it.Be sure to collect these pieces before they hit the floor (you will not get them off the shower floor, trust me, i've tried) .What I do, is I pull any little pieces that look like they are going to drop off and place them in the bottom of my shower jelly pot.I then put a little chunk into my shower puff, where the smallest piece creates mountains of lather.Get your own shower jelly, starting at £3.50 ~https://www.lush.co.uk/products/whoosh
