Back to school season is well and truly upon us, and if you don't really want to splash the cash on the more pricey supplies, there are still great super cute alternatives that cost a little less.
I have already done all my supply shopping and was only planning to go to Poundland to get some cheap index cards, but I ended up leaving the shop with a little more than I first anticipated! (ooops :) )
The first thing I saw was a gorgeous, pastel pink A5 academic diary ( which is basically a diary that runs from August to July ( the academic year ) rather than January to January. What I love most about this is that at the front, there is space to record your spring, summer, autumn and winter timetables and also a space to record what teachers you have for what class. There is also a whole page for each day (half each for Saturday and Sunday) so there is plenty of room to write things down. Obviously everything listed here is only £1 (hence the fact it's from Poundland). This item also comes in sky blue, baby blue and black.Choose yours before they are all gone ! ~ http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/diaries-and-calendars/a5-academic-diary-2015-2016
Next I saw a pack of 3 composition notebooks in A4,5 and 6.The red ditsy pattern won me over and I thought these were great for jotting down rough notes.Especially the small A6 notebook for slipping into a handbag or purse when on the go.They come in a wide assortment of patterns (the one featured on the following link is slightly different from the one I purchased, but pice and sizes are exactly the same.) ~ http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/writing-and-filing/notebooks-and-pads/3pk-assorted-notebooks
The index cards that I picked up were so ideal as they come in a little cardboard stand, rather than just loose cards in a wrapper, so when you open them, they don't spill everywhere and you don't lose lots. There are 100 cards in a pack and I picked up 2 in a 2 for 1 deal, so I got 200 cards.Take advantage of this great offer before it's over. ~ http://www.poundland.co.uk/2-for-1-index-cards
I got a pack of 6 chubby highlighters which are pretty self explanatory, but 6 different colours in a big size are great for the price and definitely an essential for me. ~ http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/writing-and-filing/pens-pencils-and-writing/broad-highlighters-6-pack
I also picked up some items that are not available to view online so I wont be adding a link.
These 2 varsity notebooks are a perfect size to use for to-do lists, which are always a great idea during hectic school/work life, to have a clear list of everything that needs to be accomplished to hand. The covers are of a substantial plastic, which is great so they don't get tatty, but they are also wipe clean.
I also got a 2 pack of elasticated file folders. We don't need to carry big ring binder folders in our school, as all our homework is done in our books or on rare occasions such as if it is a poster, it is completed on paper, so I just use thin file folders to put letters and sheets that need to be stuck into our books in.The designs are also really cute.
That is all the stuff I got, as I had already got the basics such as pens/pencils etc, but I thought I would mention some other fantastic things you can get for just £1, if you haven't got all your supplies yet.
A good quality biro can last for MONTHS, and Bic ( a popular stationery brand ) have supplied Poundland with lots of different stationery items. For just a pound, you can get a pack of 8
Bic Round Stic blue biros. If you are careful and don't lose any, they might last the whole year!~http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/branded-stationery/bic-rnd-stic-8pk-blue
You can also get the Bic Round Stic biros in black ~ ww.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/branded-stationery/bic-rnd-stic-8pk-blk
You can also get a 4 pack of Bic Blister grip biros, which again, last for a very long time. These also range in blue and black colours.~http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/branded-stationery/bic-grip-blister-4pk
Poundland also sell a range of PaperMate products. The Papermate mechanical pencil 4 pack would be a good choice,~http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/writing-and-filing/pens-pencils-and-writing/papermate-2020-mechanical-penc or if the brand didn't matter to you, Poundland sell an own brand pack of 24 Hb pencils with erasers.~http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/writing-and-filing/pens-pencils-and-writing/hb-pencils-with-eraser-24-pack For those in search of more stylish supplies, the Poundland own pack of 12 neon pencils with erasers could be the way to go.~http://www.poundland.co.uk/stationery-and-crafts/writing-and-filing/pens-pencils-and-writing/12-neon-hb-pencils. If you do happen to visit Poundland and you see the pack of 30 black HB pencils with erasers, don't buy them, as a few years ago I got a bit excited and bought about 3 packs ( I get a bit excited about back to school shopping ) and when I got home, I realised that none of them had been sharpened so you could write with them.So I had 90 useless pencils.I had a lot of sharpening to do.There are loads and loads and loads of notebooks in all shapes, sizes and styles and also, there are other essentials like paper clips, glue and post it notes.
I hope this helped you with your back to school shopping and enjoy what holiday time you have left !
